Tool Room Assistant
Position Summary
The Toolroom Assistant is responsible for the finishing, assembling, and maintenance of form tooling and cutting dies.
Job Functions

Work safely and look-out for the safety of others

Keep area clean and organized
-
Convert raw materials into finished product using machines and/or hand-processing
-
Repair and refurbish existing tooling to support Production needs
-
Maintain inventory levels of cutters, shop supplies, and hardware.

Maintain required certifications (where applicable)

Interface with computer software to find documents and complete data entry

Able to follow detailed work instructions
-
Perform job duties in order to meet quality, cost, and on-time delivery goals

Able to work overtime as required
Qualifications
- Able to use basic hand tools and gauges
-
Basic mathematical skills
-
Able to create custom tooling or regrind a tool effectively to make a part to print

Experience with Haas, Milltronics, Hardinge vertical cnc mills a plus

Experience programming in MasterCAM a plus
Education/Experience
-
High School Diploma or equivalent with Vo-Tech/Trade School training
-
3-5 years’ work experience working in/around tool shop or metal working environment

Language Skills
-
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Read and understand blueprints
Work Environment
-
Must be able to work in a factory environment
-
Must be able to wear steel toe shoes

This position will be performed in a manufacturing setting the majority of the time. The use of hands, speech, hearing, vision, and standing will be vital to performing processes in this environment. Maximum lifting requirement is 75 lbs.
