Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, adhering to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Maintain food safety standards by following proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Use knife skills effectively, including slicing techniques to ensure efficiency and safety in food prep
- Support food service operations by plating dishes promptly and coordinating with front-of-house staff for smooth service
- Ensure cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts to meet safety standards in production
- Contribute to catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within restaurants or food service environments
- Familiarity with dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards in production, and food safety management practices
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and meal preparation methods
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
