GBL Mechanical Inc. is a plumbing and sprinkler contractor specializing in residential and commercial projects throughout New York City and Connecticut for over 20 years. We’re expanding our team and looking to recruit a talented foreman to work in a large commercial project in Stamford, Connecticut.
We provide a van service to drive plumbers without vehicles from Astoria and Queens(if you live in New York) daily to and from the job site. You must otherwise be able to arrive at the job site yourself.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in construction plumbing, can direct and manage crews of workers and capably read drawings. Above all else, we are looking for dependable, honest and hard working individuals. Experience is second to the attitude we need for our projects; for your work we compensate fair and honestly with good flexibility in work.
Requirements :
- Legally allowed to work in the United States of America.
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols & directions while working.
- Experience in operating hand tools, power tools and directing crews.
- Read blueprints and communicate what needs to be done to workers correctly.
- Arrive punctually, consistently and ready to work.
- 5+ of experience in plumbing.
Preferences :
- Up to date SST Card, and certifications.
- Valid, up to date certifications.
- Bilingualism appreciated, but not required.
- Has own vehicle with a valid license to drive.
- Valid heavy machinery operational license (forklifts) preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of NYC and CT specific plumbing codes.
Responsibilities :
- Organize, direct and supervise plumbing crews to ensure they do as required.
- Represent GBL Mechanical in virtual or in-person meetings to discuss project progress.
- Comfortable and able to operate in a large commercial construction site.
- Responsive coordination & communication over WhatsApp, E-Mail, SMS texting and phone calls to co-workers, tradesmen and clients.
- List supplies required for job-site and submit for ordering.
- Plan, direct and sign for the delivery of deliveries large (pipes) and small.
- Coordinate with project managers and office staff to ensure steady project supply.

Compensation :
- Our starting amount is $34/hr. We will pay fairly to both your experience and quality of work, and it will be adjusted accordingly after a short trial period.
Schedule:Monday to Friday, 7am - 3:30pm. Work is available on weekends as well.
