We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Operating Room Technician to support surgeons and clinical staff in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality care. Must-Have Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience (or completion of an ORT training program)
- Current CPR certification (ACLS preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
- Physical ability to meet job demands, including lifting up to 25 lbs and assisting with patient movement
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain sterile field standards at all times
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal ORT training and certification
- Experience in a surgical setting with diverse procedures
- Familiarity with inventory management and surgical supply systems
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Set up instruments, equipment, and supplies based on procedure type
- Assist surgeons during procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring efficiency
- Perform surgical scrubbing, gowning, and gloving according to standards
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse
- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic technique at all times
- Assist with specimen handling, dressings, and patient positioning/movement
- Clean, decontaminate, and prepare equipment and OR rooms for subsequent procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply replenishment
- Support emergency procedures as needed
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant operating room environment
- Participate in training, in-service education, and ongoing professional development
