Vehicle Upfit Technician (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Conversions)
Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience
Westwind Coachworks is Southwest Florida's premier Mercedes-Benz Sprinter upfitter, specializing in custom luxury van conversions, commercial upfits, and specialty vehicle builds. We're looking for a motivated individual who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and building high-quality custom vehicles.
No two days are exactly the same. One project may involve installing cabinetry and interior components, while the next could include wiring electrical systems, mounting electronics, operating CNC equipment, or assisting with custom fabrication and finishing.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install custom interior components
- Install and troubleshoot 12V and 110V electrical systems
- Install lighting, audio/video equipment, and accessories
- Perform electrical wiring and component installation
- Operate or learn CNC equipment
- Assist with hydrodipping and custom finishing processes
- Install flooring, cabinetry, wall panels, and trim
- Read work orders and follow installation procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete high-quality builds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Automotive assembly
- Vehicle upfitting
- Marine manufacturing
- RV manufacturing
- Cabinet installation
- Electrical wiring
- Audio/Video installation
- CNC operation
- Carpentry
- Mechanical assembly
- Comfortable using power and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license preferred
