Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Journeyman to join our Springfield-based team. This role requires weekly travel to project sites across the U.S., with company-paid travel expenses. Crews return home on weekends. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with commercial concrete work, with preference given to those who have worked on EV charging infrastructure or utility-related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set, align, and secure forms for concrete foundations, pads, and related structures.
- Mix, pour, spread, finish, and cure concrete to precise specifications.
- Place reinforcement (rebar/mesh) and ensure compliance with structural requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Operate and maintain concrete tools and finishing equipment.
- Mentor apprentices and laborers on safe and efficient work practices.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Support EV charging station construction by preparing and finishing concrete pads, bases, and site-specific structures.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as a concrete journeyman or finisher.
- Strong ability to read construction documents and site plans.
- Knowledge of forming, reinforcement, finishing, and curing processes.
- Experience with EV charging or utility infrastructure preferred.
- Willingness to travel during the week (all expenses covered).
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor jobsite conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to home office (Springfield, MO).
