Make a meaningful impact as a contract Special Education Teacher supporting students with mild to moderate needs for the 2026-2027 school year! This assignment runs from August 4, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The role offers a hybrid format—spend just 1-2 days per week on site at a Lincoln-area location, while most instruction and meetings occur virtually. Flexible scheduling is available based on caseload requirements and student needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active California Mild/Moderate (M/M) Education Specialist credential (required)
- Previous experience working with students identified as Mild/Moderate within a special education setting
- Strong skills in virtual instruction, IEP development, progress monitoring, and case management
- Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom) for IEPs and staff collaboration
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for working with families and team members
Responsibilities:
- Provide both virtual and limited on-site instruction for students on your caseload
- Deliver services aligned with IEP goals, accommodate individual student needs, and manage compliance documentation
- Schedule, facilitate, and participate in IEP meetings (primarily online, with rare in-person requests)
- Use Mondays and Fridays for paperwork, planning, and IEP preparation; reserve Tuesdays through Thursdays for direct services
- Attend weekly PLCs, staff meetings, monthly SPED meetings, and host a homeroom for assigned students
