As Brown Deer is experiencing one of the largest transformations in Milwaukee County, the Village is searching for its next Community Development Director to lead the community through these vital economic development projects. Besides coordinating economic development activities, the Community Development Director is also responsible for planning and zoning management, oversight of building inspection services, and implementation of the Comprehensive Plan. The position demands strategic planning, problem solving, and the ability to interpret and enforce the Village Code.
The hiring range for this position is $82,843 to $121,294 annually. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in land-use planning, urban planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, or a closely related field. At least four years in the profession is required. AICP certification is encouraged but not required.
