Responsibilities
- Provide interpretation services across multiple modalities, including over-the-phone, in-person, and simultaneous interpretation for a wide range of settings such as medical, legal, educational, and community services.
- Translate written documents accurately and efficiently, maintaining the original tone and intent while adapting content for cultural relevance.
- Conduct consecutive interpretation during meetings, interviews, or conferences to ensure seamless communication between bilingual parties.
- Demonstrate cultural competency by understanding and respecting diverse cultural norms and practices during interpretation sessions.
- Uphold strict professional ethics by maintaining confidentiality, impartiality, and neutrality in all interactions.
- Collaborate with clients and organizations to schedule interpretation sessions that meet their specific needs.
- Continuously enhance language skills through ongoing education in linguistics, interpretation techniques, and cultural awareness.
Skills
- Multilingual proficiency in English and at least one foreign language with demonstrated fluency in both spoken and written forms.
