We are looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and back hauled raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or distribution centers
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Skills
- Proven 3 year work experience as a truck driver
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (ELD)
- Ability to drive long hours, travel regularly and be out for days (not weeks) at a time
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid truck driving license
Nature of the work
- Based in Seminole county
- Home some weeknights, home almost every weekend
- Loads our loaded by our warehouse team
- Load schedule communicated weekly
- Modern and reliable lease vehicles with clean sleep cabs
- Established and reliable routes are regional with the occasional multi state runs
- Paid per mile, per drop and hourly when detention is not anticipated
- Position is open and ready to be filled
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $49,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
