Job Summary
We are seeking highly skilled 1st Class Specialty Pipe Welders with a minimum of 3 years of shipyard experience. Candidates must have proven Copper-Nickel (Cu-Ni) welding experience and be able to successfully pass a 2-day weld test covering multiple welding processes and positions. This position supports shipyard fabrication, repair, and installation activities on marine piping systems.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of documented shipyard welding experience
- Extensive experience welding Copper-Nickel piping systems
- Strong knowledge of marine pipe fabrication and installation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications
- Must meet all safety, quality, and production standards
- Ability to work day and night shifts as required
Required Weld Testing (2-Day Test)
Applicants must review all testing procedures prior to submitting.
Successful completion of the following weld tests is mandatory:
Welding Processes & Positions:
- Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) – 3G & 4G
- Stick / Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) – 3G & 4G
- TIG / Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) – 6G
- Copper-Nickel Weld Test (Required)
Failure to pass any portion of the weld test may result in disqualification.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality pipe welding on marine systems, including Copper-Nickel piping
- Weld in all positions (flat, vertical, overhead, and 6G)
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment
- Ensure welds meet shipyard, ABS, MIL-SPEC, and customer requirements
- Perform visual inspections and participate in weld quality control
- Follow all shipyard safety policies and procedures
- Work efficiently in confined spaces and shipboard environments
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and various shipyard conditions
- Must be capable of lifting, bending, standing, and working for extended periods
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Schedule
- Day and Night Shifts Available
- Overtime may be required based on project needs
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
