Join our dynamic team as an Auto Parts Counterperson, where you'll be the vital link between customers and our inventory of automotive parts and accessories. This energetic role offers the chance to utilize your mechanical knowledge, customer service skills, and sales expertise to deliver exceptional service. As a key player in our retail automotive environment, you'll assist customers in identifying the right parts through over the counter sales, through the service department and on the phone. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will drive customer satisfaction and support our dealership’s success.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide expert guidance on auto parts and accessories to meet their vehicle needs
- Process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining excellent phone etiquette
- Work with the service team to facilitate order fulfillment for repairs and maintenance jobs
- Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information
- Refer to electronic parts manuals to identify the correct part(s) for the make, model, and year of the vehicle
- Assist with daily inventory, receiving, stocking and shipping
- Notify service advisor or the customer when special ordered parts have been received
- Keep work area clean
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Prior experience in dealership or retail auto parts sales is highly preferred
- Familiarity with automotive systems, vehicle maintenance procedures, and parts management processes
- Proficiency in inventory management software, order processing systems & internet
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills
