Join our dynamic team as a Laborer Pipe Layer specializing in Underground Utilities! Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to assist with trenching, pipe installation, and utility system setup.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately follow project specifications for underground utilities installation.
- Perform construction trenching for utility lines such as sewer lines, water supply systems, stormwater systems, and wastewater infrastructure.
- Install pipes using pipe lasers and other precision tools to ensure proper alignment and elevation according to blueprint specifications.
- Utilize utility locating equipment to identify existing underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents.
- Conduct concrete finishing and forming work for structures related to underground utility installations when necessary.
- Follow all safety regulations including federal construction safety standards, safety protocol adherence, and site-specific safety procedures during all phases of work.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks in construction settings.
- Knowledge of pipeline installation processes including sewer line installation, utility trenching, and underground utility systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans accurately.
- Familiarity with utility locating techniques for sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply systems, and wastewater infrastructure.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools for pipe fitting, concrete forming, welding, and other related tasks.
- Understanding of federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence on active job sites.
- Experience with construction site activities involving pipeline work within oil & gas or municipal infrastructure projects is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail when following blueprint specifications and technical instructions for precise pipe installation.
- Ability to work effectively in physically demanding environments while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards.
