Job Title: Cook
Reports To: Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services
Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to residents, guests, and staff while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer service. The Cook participates in all aspects of food production and may be required to supervise other dining services staff as needed. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services.
Essential Functions
- Prepare all food in accordance with the daily menu planner in a timely manner.
- Work the food line during meal service periods.
- Plate food attractively and ensure all condiments and garnishes are prepared and served appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and serving line equipment in accordance with sanitation schedules.
- Ensure proper food temperature maintenance and food safety standards are followed.
- Keep stockrooms, coolers, and freezers clean and organized.
- Rotate food inventory and ensure all perishables are properly labeled, dated, and stored.
- Minimize food waste through proper storage, handling, and food recycling techniques.
- Attend required training sessions, in-services, and staff meetings.
- Follow all Willow Ridge Senior Living standards, policies, and procedures.
- Promote a safe working environment through accident prevention and proper equipment use.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and courteous attitude toward residents, guests, family members, and coworkers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
- One to three months of related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and
Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
