We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of custom-built machinery and automation systems. This is a hands-on leadership role—not just people management.
You’ll guide a team of mechanical and electrical engineers while staying close to the work: reviewing designs, solving technical challenges, and ensuring projects move from concept to build efficiently.

Lead and mentor a team of engineers (mechanical, electrical, controls)

Oversee custom machine design projects from concept through build and validation

Review and contribute to designs (mechanical systems, automation, integration)

Drive project execution—timelines, resources, and technical direction

Collaborate with customers to define requirements and deliver solutions

Support design for manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability

Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, assembly, and field service teams

Troubleshoot complex system issues during build, testing, or installation
-
Establish and improve engineering standards, processes, and documentation
-
Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and performance improvements

7–12+ years of experience in custom machine design, automation, or capital equipment

Prior leadership experience (Engineering Lead, Supervisor, or Manager)

Strong background in mechanical system design (frames, motion systems, tooling, etc.)

Experience working on build-to-order or highly customized equipment

Ability to review CAD designs and guide engineering decisions

Strong communication skills—able to work with customers and internal teams

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Experience with automation systems (integration with controls, robotics, etc.)

Familiarity with SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD platforms

Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly)

Experience in industries such as packaging, converting, material handling, or special machinery
