We are hiring a dependable and energetic Camp Counselor to join our team in Bedford Hills. This is an ongoing part-time position supporting our children’s camps and weekend birthday parties throughout the year.
The first major block of work will be our four-week summer camp from August 10 through September 4. After summer camp, additional shifts will be available during future camps and scheduled weekend birthday parties. Hours outside of camp weeks will vary based on our program and party schedule.
Our camps are active and sports-focused. Counselors lead games and activities, supervise groups of children, help with transitions throughout the day, and make sure every child is safe, included, and having a great experience.
Summer Camp Schedule
Monday through Friday, August 10–September 4, 2026
The four camp weeks begin:
- August 10
- August 17
- August 24
- August 31
Regular camp hours are 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. We also offer extended care until 5:30 p.m., so additional hours may be available depending on enrollment and staffing needs.
We also host children’s birthday parties on weekends. Our first party is August 1, with additional shifts offered as parties are booked.
Pay:
$19 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Lead sports, games, and age-appropriate group activities
- Actively supervise children throughout the day
- Help children participate, resolve minor conflicts, and follow program rules
- Assist with arrival, dismissal, lunch, and activity transitions
- Set up and clean up camp activities and birthday-party spaces
- Communicate clearly with program leadership and other staff
- Follow all safety and emergency procedures
- Support future camps and weekend birthday parties when available
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, childcare, coaching, or recreation setting is strongly preferred
- Dependable, punctual, patient, and comfortable managing groups
- Able to participate actively in sports and games
- Must have reliable transportation to Bedford Hills
- Availability for all four summer camp weeks is strongly preferred
- Interest in continuing with future camps and weekend parties
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- Must successfully complete required reference and background screening
Candidates who are at least 18 years old are preferred. Exceptional candidates aged 16 or 17 with meaningful experience working with children may also be considered.
Pay: $19.00 per hour
