American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring dedicated CVICU experience with Impella, post cardiac surgery care, and Epic proficiency.

Hospital CVICU setting in a 36-bed unit
-
Patient population includes post cardiac surgery (directly and not directly from the OR), pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, and patients requiring pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz and thermodilution PA cath monitoring

Targeted patient ratio of 1:2

Experience with A-lines, vents, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and drawing ABGs required in this role

Epic EMR experience required
-
Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
-
36- or 48-hour contract options available
-
Travelers are first to float at the facility's discretion; floating may occur within specialty clusters to medically appropriate assignments or in a nursing support capacity
-
Floating may include the main campus and two additional campuses within 15 miles
-
Every other weekend and holiday coverage required

Active OH or compact RN license required (not required to be in hand at signing)

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
-
Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience required

Proficiency with Impella required

Experience with A-lines, vents, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and drawing ABGs required

Ability to read and interpret EKG/telemetry strips required; must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to starting

Epic EMR experience required

Level 1 Trauma experience preferred

Travel nursing experience preferred

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

13-week assignment

Navy blue scrubs required
