Position Overview
Educators at CWA are responsible for maintaining safe, structured, developmentally appropriate classrooms while partnering with families and collaborating with team members. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teachers to inspire and nurture young learners during their formative years.
In this role, you will create a vibrant, engaging classroom environment that promotes growth across all areas of childhood development. Your expertise in curriculum development, literacy education, and classroom management will help foster a love of learning while supporting each child's unique needs. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives through innovative teaching practices and compassionate care.
Openings may include toddler, preschool, NC-PreK assistant, and support roles.
Essential Responsibilities
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum and learning activities
- Maintain strong classroom management and supervision
- Communicate professionally with families and staff
- Ensure compliance with NC DCDEE licensing regulations
- Maintain clean, organized, and engaging classroom environments
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Create a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, social-emotional growth, and positive behavior management.
- Plan and execute engaging lesson plans that align with educational standards and support individual learning styles.
- Provide attentive toddler care and preschool instruction, ensuring safety, comfort, and developmental progress for all children.
- Utilize classroom management techniques to maintain an organized, inclusive environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with families, specialists in special education, and other educators to support each child's welfare and educational journey.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Experience in a licensed childcare setting preferred, but not required.
- Certification or degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred; Montessori training is a plus.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of childhood development, behavior management, and early intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with classroom management strategies, and child welfare practices.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Ability to work with diverse student populations including those requiring special education services or additional support.
