Goodwill of the Heartland is hiring a Healthcare Program & Training Coordinator to help advance our mission of helping people reach their full potential through education, training, and the power of work! The Healthcare Program & Training Coordinator will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering a career exploration program that prepares participants for entry into healthcare training and employment pathways. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public health, education, human services, workforce development, business, or a related field, as well as at least two years of experience in healthcare training or patient care.
This role combines instruction, career coaching, employer engagement, and program administration to ensure participants gain exposure to healthcare careers and develop actionable career plans. The Healthcare training program will be designed to introduce participants to a variety of healthcare career pathways, including entry-level and advanced roles. The Healthcare Program & Training Coordinator will support individuals, particularly those facing barriers to employment, in building foundational knowledge, career readiness skills, and connections to training and employment opportunities in the healthcare sector. The role does require frequent travel as part of the workday to locations in Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities for furthering education and programming.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public health, education, human services, workforce development, business, or related field required; equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.

At least two years of experience in healthcare training or patient care required. Applicants with an associate degree may substitute two additional years of experience.

Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred.

Excellent computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office required and video communication such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and others.

A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of required auto insurance, and success completion of a motor vehicle record screening, dependent adult and child abuse, and criminal background checks required.
The Healthcare Program & Training Coordinator is a full-time position, scheduled for 40 hours per week. The schedule will predominantly be Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, though flexibility is required to accommodate program needs. The starting pay range for this role is $23.04 - $25.34, with flexibility based on education and experience.
