Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil Structural Engineer with expertise in cold-formed/light gauge steel design and a valid California PE license. The ideal candidate will lead the design and analysis of light gauge steel framing systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings, working closely with architects, developers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC), AISI, and ASCE standards.

Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals and permitting.

Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California.

Perform structural modeling using tools such as RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit, Telka Structures, and/or AutoCAD.

Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Stay current on industry codes, materials, and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems.

Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support.

Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing quality control and technical guidance.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Active California PE License (required).

5+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on light gauge steel systems.

Proficiency in relevant structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, AutoCAD).

Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design, lateral systems, and seismic considerations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized/prefabricated systems.

Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements (if applicable).

PE License in other states

SE License (Structural Engineer – CA) is a plus but not required.
