American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated academic medical center in Charleston, SC, with scrub and circulate experience preferred.

Work setting is a busy, Level I trauma, academic teaching, Magnet-designated hospital with 820 staffed beds
-
The Main OR consists of 21 suites covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics

Nursing team is composed of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists
-
RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts: Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
-
Floating to like units or sister facilities is required to meet facility needs

Charting is done in Epic
-
No on-call requirement specified for this position

Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the active license before starting

Current AHA certifications required: BLS

Radiation badge required (provided by agency)

Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience strongly preferred

Level I trauma center experience required

Scrub experience strongly preferred

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are accepted for this position depending on experience

Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, but local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs

Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date

Scrubs are provided by the facility

During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
