Primary Purpose:
To provide art therapy services onside, as well as offsite, in partnership with a non-profit community arts education organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and group art therapy services for clientele in community arts-based program including documentation and ongoing evaluation;
- Populations served include adults with special needs (physical and developmental disabilities; verbal and nonverbal); children and adults demonstrating a range of abilities on the autism spectrum; individuals with Down Syndrome, ADHD, developmental delay, seizure disorders, visual impairment, and genetic illnesses; and troubled and troubling children and adolescents. Experience with mental health population desired;
- Assess/evaluate potential client needs through assessment;
- Provide needed consultation with client families;
- Participate in twice yearly client events;
- Serve as advocate for organizations creative arts therapies program;
- Collaborate with Coordinator of Creative Arts Therapies and Director of Education to create art therapy programming for onsite and offsite clients
- Participate in team meetings as scheduled
Lines of Communication:
The Art Therapist reports to the Director of Creative Arts Therapies.

Essential Qualifications:

Masters Degree, Certification in Art Therapy and relevant education required

Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Database programs, and the Internet

Must be able to work occasional weekends or evenings
