Part-Time Dance Studio Operations Manager
Uplift Acrobatics and Dance
Springfield, Vermont
Approx. $25 per hour, depending on experience
20 guaranteed hours per week, with the potential for up to 25 hours during busier periods
Do you love getting things done?
Do you get genuine satisfaction from completing a project, closing a communication loop, organizing a process, and making sure every last detail has been handled?
Uplift Acrobatics and Dance is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Studio Operations Manager to help keep our growing studio running smoothly.
We are looking for an operator, someone who enjoys turning ideas and decisions into completed action steps.
Our Owner and Artistic Director is an entrepreneur, creative leader, and big-picture thinker. She has no shortage of ideas for growing Uplift and creating an exceptional experience for our students, families, and staff. What we need is someone who can help bring those ideas to life by organizing the details, maintaining the systems, tracking the deadlines, and making sure important work gets finished.
This is not a role for someone who wants to spend most of their time brainstorming new ideas or redefining the direction of the business. The owner will continue to set Uplift’s vision, major priorities, artistic direction, and final business decisions.
The Studio Operations Manager will help translate those priorities into consistent, organized execution.
The Owner determines where Uplift is going. The Studio Operations Manager helps make sure we get there.
About Uplift
Uplift Acrobatics and Dance is a growing youth dance, acrobatics, and aerial arts studio located in Springfield, Vermont.
We are committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and encouraging environment where students feel seen, supported, appropriately challenged, and proud of their progress. We care deeply about the experience we provide to our students, families, and staff, and we are looking for someone who will take pride in helping us deliver that excellent experience consistently.
This is an exciting opportunity to become Uplift’s Studio Operations Manager and take meaningful ownership of the systems and details that keep our studio thriving.
What This Role Is Really About
The Studio Operations Manager will serve as the operational right hand to Uplift’s Owner and Artistic Director.
This person will not simply wait for a daily list of assignments. Once trained, they will understand Uplift’s recurring responsibilities, maintain established systems, monitor upcoming deadlines, identify unfinished work, and take initiative to keep things moving.
They will help ensure that nothing important falls through the cracks.
A successful Studio Operations Manager will regularly notice and communicate things such as:
- “Registration opens soon, and these three items still need to be completed.”
- “These families are waiting for follow-up, so I’m taking care of that today.”
- “This project is nearly finished, but I need one final decision from you.”
- “We have a staffing gap next week. Here are the options I have identified.”
- “You asked me to make sure this was completed by Friday, and I’m following up so we can finish it.”
We are looking for someone who brings organization, practical solutions, and consistent follow-through. The Studio Operations Manager will take meaningful ownership of day-to-day operations while working closely with the Owner, who retains responsibility for Uplift’s overall vision, strategic direction, and major business decisions.
Key Responsibilities: Studio Operations
- Help oversee the studio’s day-to-day administrative operations
- Ensure the studio is organized, prepared, and running smoothly during open hours
- Maintain recurring operational checklists, calendars, systems, and deadlines
- Notice potential problems early and take appropriate steps to address them
- Follow through on open tasks until they are fully completed
- Help prepare for registration periods, performances, summer camps, special events, and other seasonal studio needs
- Document and improve procedures so that important responsibilities are completed consistently
- Help maintain an orderly, welcoming, and professional studio environment
Family Communication and Customer Service
- Monitor and respond to routine emails and family questions in a warm, accurate, and timely manner
- Help families with enrollment, class information, scheduling, policies, trials, waitlists, and other studio needs
- Follow up with families so that questions and concerns do not remain unresolved
- Communicate studio policies with kindness, clarity, and consistency
Enrollment and Lead Follow-Up
- Monitor new inquiries, prospective families, trial students, registrations, waitlists, and withdrawals
- Ensure leads and interested families receive timely follow-up
- Track families who need additional communication or assistance
- Help move prospective students from initial inquiry through enrollment
- Maintain accurate student and family information within studio systems
- Identify enrollment opportunities and classes that may need additional attention
Staff and Schedule Coordination
- Help communicate schedule information, reminders, deadlines, and operational updates to staff
- Track required paperwork, staff tasks, and recurring administrative responsibilities
- Help ensure that staff members have the information and resources they need
- Bring unresolved staffing or scheduling concerns to the Owner with clear information and possible solutions
Project Management and Owner Support
- Turn the Owner’s ideas, decisions, and priorities into organized action plans
- Break larger projects into clear next steps and track them through completion
- Maintain a running list of decisions or information needed from the Owner
- Follow up respectfully when the Owner’s input is needed to keep a project moving
- Help the Owner remain aware of important deadlines and unfinished responsibilities
- Bring practical recommendations and possible solutions—not simply additional problems
- Help protect the Owner’s time so she can focus on leadership, artistic direction, business growth, and other high-level responsibilities
This Position May Be a Great Fit for You If You:
- Love completing tasks and getting projects across the finish line
- Naturally notice details that other people miss
- Enjoy creating order from a large number of moving pieces
- Keep excellent lists, calendars, notes, and follow-up systems
- Take satisfaction in checking every final detail
- Can work independently after receiving clear direction and training
- Are comfortable taking initiative within established boundaries
- Communicate warmly and professionally with parents, students, and employees
- Enjoy supporting a creative entrepreneur by helping turn ideas into reality
- Are energized by a fast-moving small-business environment
- Want your work to make a visible and meaningful difference
This Position May Not Be the Right Fit If You:
- Prefer generating ideas rather than carrying them through to completion
- Frequently lose track of details or need repeated reminders
- Tend to begin many projects without finishing them
- Need the Owner to create a detailed task list for every workday
- Are uncomfortable following up with other people
- Avoid difficult or time-sensitive communication
- Want to independently set the company’s vision
- Become easily overwhelmed when several responsibilities are moving at once
- Believe a task is complete before all communication, documentation, and follow-up have been handled
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Confidence using email, calendars, spreadsheets, online databases, and cloud-based business tools
- Ability to learn new software and systems
- Professional judgment and discretion
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned with the Owner
- Experience in administration, operations, office management, project coordination, customer service, or a related role
- Ability to work on-site in Springfield, Vermont
- Availability during key afternoon, evening, and Saturday Morning studio hours
Experience in a dance studio, youth program, school, membership-based business, or other family-facing organization is helpful but not required. The right operational mindset is more important than dance experience.
Schedule
This is a year-round, part-time, on-site position.
- 20 hours per week guaranteed
- Potential to work up to approximately 25 hours per week during busier periods
- Schedule will be designed primarily around Uplift’s studio hours
- Regular afternoon and evening availability will be required
- Saturday morning availability will be required
- Additional availability may occasionally be needed during registration, recital season, summer camps, and special events
The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation
Approx. $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
