Job Summary:
The Regional Manager is responsible for the overall success and efficient operation of their designated region. This includes managing customer relationships, overseeing daily horticultural operations, leading and developing a team of technicians, and ensuring the profitability of the region. The ideal candidate is a proactive, customer-focused leader with strong operational and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Operations & Management
· Strategic Oversight: Effectively and efficiently run a designated region, ensuring optimal operational performance and profitability.
· Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, hire, train, review, and, when necessary, terminate technicians in accordance with company procedures. Act as a leader and a liaison between technicians and other departments. Conduct regular training sessions, including safety, pesticide use, and horticultural best practices.
· Scheduling & Logistics: Maintain and update technician schedules in Power Apps/Compuscapes, managing vacation requests and sick days to ensure continuous service coverage.
· Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections using the Quality Control Inspection Report, providing feedback to technicians and ensuring high standards of service. Periodically service accounts alongside technicians to share technical and efficiency ideas.
· Inventory & Supplies: Collaborate with office staff to ensure technicians have necessary supplies and collaborate with the greenhouse, installation, and purchasing teams for replacement plant material which should be high-quality, insect-free, and delivered in a timely fashion.
· Problem Solving: Address and resolve any concerns raised by technicians or clients regarding products from the greenhouse, replacements, or installations. Choose the most efficient method for plant replacements (delivery by replacement crew, delivery for tech installation, or tech pickup from warehouse).
· Compliance: Ensure all work is thoroughly documented, signed by clients, and submitted for proper billing. Adhere strictly to all company policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in policy and service manuals.
· Availability: Be available as needed to support regional operations and assist other departments, demonstrating a global perspective for the company.
· Financial Performance: Ultimately responsible for the bottom line of the region, focusing on customer satisfaction, strong crew management, and cost monitoring to achieve profitability. Regularly review the profitability of the area with the National Service Manager, evaluating quarterly and annual account performances.
Customer Relations & Sales
· Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with all customers in the region, ensuring they perceive Parker and the Regional Manager as excellent. Prioritize face-to-face interaction to foster loyalty and account growth.
· Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with customers, returning calls promptly even if just to provide an update.
· Account Visits: Schedule regular visits to clients based on priority (Priority 1: monthly; Priority 2: every two months; Priority 3 & 4: every six months to a year).
· Sales & Suggestions: Handle sales to existing accounts, making suggestions to clients on how to improve the appearance of their accounts. Develop creative ideas for accounts, especially hotels and high-prestige jobs, to demonstrate a proactive approach to client interests. Collaborate with a salesperson for large sales requests when needed.
· Customer Satisfaction: Consistently ask clients about their satisfaction with service and inquire about potential improvements.
· Proposal Management: Prepare and submit proposals for plant replacements or enhancements, including explanatory letters for client review. Follow up on proposals once the office receives them to drive plant replacement and new plant income.
Technical & Horticultural Expertise
· Pesticide Licensing: Must hold at least a 3C Pesticide License in the state of residence.
· Technician Permitting: Sign off on all Operator permits for regional technicians.
· Green Wall Systems: Become familiar with all Green Wall systems used by Parker, including irrigation equipment, fertilizer requirements, and refilling procedures, to effectively train technicians.
· Horticultural Knowledge: Maintain a high level of horticultural expertise to guide and train technicians, minimize plant mortality rates, and reduce no-charge plant costs.
Administrative & Reporting
· Computer Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Apps. Will be issued a company computer and can access the server via Remote Desktop Connection.
· Documentation: Ensure all safety, training, employee performance issues, and pesticide meetings are fully documented for HR, including attendees and topics discussed.
· Reporting: Produce a weekly activity report for the National Service Manager, entered into the computer to monitor supervisory visits and coverage gaps.
· Feedback: Maintain open communication with the National Service Manager, providing weekly updates and informing them of any problems with accounts, clients, or plant-related issues. Provide consistent feedback to technicians, including quarterly meetings to discuss safety and ongoing progress updates on account issues.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably in a service-oriented or horticultural industry.
· Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Apps.
· Valid 3C Pesticide License in the state of residence.
· Ability to work independently and manage a diverse range of responsibilities.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
