Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, ventilation systems, and building automation controls.
- Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify system faults efficiently.
- Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and HVAC design plans to execute precise repairs or installations.
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to troubleshoot issues related to HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems.
- Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs, maintenance procedures, and system functionalities clearly.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance data for accountability and future reference.
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and HVAC system installation.
- Service technician experience in diagnosing complex HVAC issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and refrigeration technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems efficiently using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience working with hand tools for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with electrical diagnostics related to HVAC/R systems including electrical wiring and circuit troubleshooting.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- EPA certification or equivalent licensing required for handling refrigerants safely.
- Experience working with boilers, air conditioning units, mechanical systems repair, HVAC system maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret schematics and mechanical drawings accurately for installation or repair projects.
