Roof & Floor Truss Designer
Summary
Mid States Truss is seeking a Roof & Floor Truss Designer to design and analyze roof and floor truss systems using MiTek software and related support tools. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate, code-compliant truss designs based on customer plans and specifications while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our office, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday.
Job Duties
- Estimate, design, and analyze roof and floor truss systems in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, accepted construction standards, and customer requirements.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance in accordance with work schedules and workload demands.
- Provide efficient, accurate, and cost-effective solutions to customer inquiries and project challenges.
- Maintain an efficient and organized work environment.
- Review and analyze technical data, structural calculations, plans, and specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure accurate information flow and successful design implementation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Identify opportunities for design and estimating improvements and recommend practical solutions.
- Communicate effectively with managers, fellow designers, sales staff, delivery personnel, and construction crews.
- Maintain detailed project records, documentation, and reports.
- Support company goals by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high-quality design standards.
Qualifications
- Prior truss design experience preferred.
- Experience with MiTek software preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret residential and commercial construction plans and blueprints.
- Understanding of engineering and design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Willingness to meet with customers at project sites or business locations as needed.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- General knowledge of the construction industry.
