Job description
The Barker Shoppe is looking for a Kennel Technician to join our team. The Kennel Technician will be responsible for the care and management of our Springfield, MO facility’s kennels and boarding facilities. Kennel Technician responsibilities include monitoring the health of our animals, providing timely and adequate care, and maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely and adequate care according to the plan of care
Ensure the health and well-being of our animals by providing vaccinations, spays or queens, groom, or bathe according to schedule, clean up facility, etc.Conduct routine inspections to monitor performance and determine required maintenance to maintain health conditionsReport any accidents or injuries to management immediatelyConduct routine maintenance tasks such as replacing hay or feed, cleaning stalls, or performing other duties as requested by managementEnsure that equipment is in good working order and maintain a clean and orderly environment for the animalsCommunicate effectively with other team members and management to ensure quality care for our clientsAdhere to all safety procedures and maintain professional standardsSkills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Kennel Technician or similar role (preferred)
Excellent knowledge of pet care services (preferred)Ability to work with animals (preferred)Ability to remain calm in stressful situations (required)Ability to remain calm in emergency situations (required)Proven ability to remain calm in stressful environment (required)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
