Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Cook a variety of menu items with precision, speed, and attention to presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, and measuring ingredients
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety at all times
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by efficiently managing multiple orders
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supply needs
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling practices
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-pressure setting
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude toward learning new culinary skills
