Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from outpatient surgical procedures
- Assess and monitor patients during the immediate recovery phase
- Manage pain, monitor vital signs, and identify changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation
- Ensure a safe, efficient, and patient-centered recovery experience
Surgical Specialties
You'll care for patients recovering from a variety of outpatient procedures, including:
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Joint Procedures
- Hand Surgery
- General Surgery
- Urology
- Endoscopy
QualificationsRequired
- Active Ohio RN License or Compact (NLC) RN License
- Minimum 18 months of recent PACU experience prior to travel assignments
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Epic charting experience
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Preferred
- Previous outpatient surgery center experience
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Experience caring for a diverse post-operative patient population
