Clinical Pharmacist - Home Infusion
Westbrook, ME
Up to $130,000 DOE ($59 - $63 per hour DOE)
Monday to Friday (very occasional weekends 1 in 5 or 6)| Day shifts
Want to actually practice clinically, rather than just clear a verification queue?
This role puts you at the center of each patient's infusion therapy, setting the goals, monitoring progress and making the recommendations that change the plan.
What you'll be doing
- Developing, implementing and monitoring individualized plans of care, including setting therapeutic goals and tracking progress against them
- Clinically reviewing orders for interactions, duplicate therapy and appropriateness, then taking recommendations straight to the prescriber
- Acting as the clinical resource for nurses, physicians and intake teams on dosing, interactions, side effects and storage
- Compounding and dispensing infusion therapies to USP 797 and 800 standards, and programming pumps before they go out the door
- Counseling patients and caregivers directly, and helping supervise the pharmacy technician team
The business
A not-for-profit home infusion and specialty pharmacy provider, owned collaboratively by the hospitals it serves rather than by shareholders or a private equity fund. That ownership model shows up in the day to day: decisions get made on clinical grounds, not on margin.
Close to three decades of serving patients, with one of the lowest hospital readmission rates in the sector.
Still growing too, with a new ambulatory infusion suite recently opened.
The therapy mix is broad, covering TPN, antibiotics, immunoglobulin, biologics, chemotherapy, pain management and more. You will not get bored.
