Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center
Join a highly skilled team in a fast-paced, patient-focused ambulatory surgery center specializing in ophthalmology. We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to work in our Pre-Operative and PACU departments. This position is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working in an efficient surgical environment and providing exceptional patient care throughout the surgical experience.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday
- No weekends, holidays, or call requirements
- Closing shift, typically finishing by 5:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operative patient assessments and preparation for surgery
- Verify and ensure completion and accuracy of operative and informed consents
- Obtain and document vital signs and review any abnormal findings with the surgeon and anesthesia team
- Start and manage IV access
- Provide post-anesthesia and post-operative patient care
- Monitor patients in the recovery area and assess readiness for discharge
- Document all patient care accurately in the medical record
- Review discharge instructions with patients and their responsible adult/caregiver
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to physicians and other members of the healthcare team
- Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Ambulatory surgery center, PACU, perioperative, critical care, emergency department, or ophthalmology experience preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and IV skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
