American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care (IMCU) position at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of experience in high-volume hospital environments.

Position is in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/5J) within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
-
Unit has 16–10 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
-
Heparin drip management is part of the role

12-hour night shifts, 4 shifts per week

Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Block scheduling is generally not approved on most units

No on-call requirements

Active RN license (Georgia or Compact) required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and diverse cases required

Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

This facility is a Level 1 trauma center handling complex, high-acuity cases at significant volume — candidates should be comfortable managing critical, fast-paced situations
