A company in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Workday HRIS Reporting Analyst to own the reporting and analytics function within its Workday Human Resources Information System environment. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Workday reports and Prism Analytics solutions across HR, Payroll, Finance, and Benefits, while ensuring data accuracy, governance compliance, and end-user enablement. The position collaborates closely with HR leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into scalable, actionable solutions.

Compensation
$125,000 - $140,000 Per Year
What You'll Do
You will design, build, test, and maintain Workday reports across a full range of report types including Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and Custom Reports with Calculated Fields, as well as Dashboards, Discovery Boards, Worksheets, and BIRT reports. Translating business requirements from HR, Payroll, Finance, Benefits, and IT stakeholders into scalable, user-friendly reporting solutions is the core of the role, and you will partner closely with those teams throughout the requirements gathering and delivery process.
You will ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across all reporting outputs, applying Workday security roles and governance standards to maintain compliance. Supporting regulatory and audit reporting needs, including EEO-1, ACA, SOX, and internal audits, is a routine part of the position. You will troubleshoot reporting issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend and implement improvements to optimize existing reports for performance, usability, and consistency.
You will support Workday releases by testing report impacts and implementing enhancements as new functionality becomes available. Creating documentation, job aids, and training materials for end users is an ongoing responsibility, as is promoting best practices in Workday reporting, data governance, and self-service analytics across the organization. You will also provide direct internal client support including custom report writing and dashboard development on request.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Analytics, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field
- 5 or more years of experience in information systems, data analytics, HR technology, or a related function
- Extensive Workday Prism Analytics experience, including building and maintaining 5 or more distinct use cases
- 2 or more years of experience designing custom reports and dashboards using Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, prompts, and report performance optimization tools
- Strong expertise in Workday reporting tools and frameworks, including Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and Custom Reports
- Solid understanding of Workday business processes and underlying data structures
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to data accuracy and detail
- Demonstrated experience working with confidential HR and employee data
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Pro Reporting certification
- Workday Prism Analytics certification
- Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, and Benefits modules
- Experience with Discovery Boards and data visualization best practices
- Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and security frameworks
- Prior experience supporting a large Workday tenant environment with multiple business units or legal entities
