We are seeking an energetic, organized, and dependable Merchandiser & Sales Assistant to support our sales team and maintain strong relationships with our customers in the Birmingham market.
Position Summary
The Merchandiser & Sales Assistant plays a critical role in supporting sales efforts and ensuring our products are well-stocked, properly displayed, and accurately represented in retail accounts. This position combines hands-on merchandising responsibilities with administrative and field sales support.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising
- Stock shelves, cold boxes, and displays with company products.
- Build and maintain attractive wine displays and promotional features.
- Ensure proper product placement, pricing, and point-of-sale materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate out-of-stock issues.
- Rotate products and maintain shelf standards.
Sales Support
- Assist sales representatives & delivery drivers with account management and customer service.
- Help coordinate product placements, promotions, and special events.
- Communicate regularly with retail customers regarding inventory and merchandising needs.
- Collect and report market intelligence, competitive activity, and display opportunities.
- Support wine tastings, samplings, and promotional events in the Birmingham area when needed.
Administrative Support
- Complete merchandising reports and route documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of account visits and display activity.
- Assist with order follow-up and customer inquiries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior merchandising, retail, beverage, wine, or sales experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of wine is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
