Vice President, Finance & Accounting
Title: VP, Finance & Accounting
Employment Type: Full-time, exempt
Department: Finance & Accounting
Target Start Date: July 6, 2026
Report: CEO
Requisition Number: FIN-2026-ATX-003
Location: Austin, TX at Cerv HQ
Employer: Cerv Property Solutions, LLC
The Role
Cerv Property Solutions delivers unified, tech-enabled property care with one standard of white-glove excellence across residential and commercial properties. We simplify property ownership and management by combining expert execution, proactive service, and polished professionals under one roof.
We are combining our forward-looking financial strategy and our institutional accounting compliance into a single leadership position: VP, Finance & Accounting. This is an elite player-coach role designed for a professional who possesses both high-level strategic vision and a willingness to drive tactical execution. You will not sit in an insulated corporate tier, you will act as the financial architect of our fast-growing company, shifting seamlessly from building dynamic cash models in the weeds, executing day-to-day accounting, and delivering board-level reports and presentations.
To provide the necessary leverage for this role, you will immediately recruit, embed, and manage a Corporate Controller directly beneath you to own transactional day-to-day operations (including the 5-day month-end close, 3-way AP matching, billing cycles, and more). You will build an airtight financial engine that protects our margins, optimizes working capital, and ruthlessly eliminates field-level value leakage across our expanding markets.
What You’ll Build & Own
You will operate with an ownership mindset, driving performance against the key scorecard outcomes:
· Financial Architecture & Strategy (Strategic Visionary): Design, deploy, and maintain our 13-week rolling cash flow forecasting models and capital allocation strategies. You will model expansion profitability, fleet asset utilization, M&A integration pathways, and own our overall corporate budget.
· Internal Controls & Financial Defense (Courageous Guardian): Establish company-wide financial guardrails and gatekeeping mechanisms to eliminate distributed expenditure leaks. You will act as the unyielding defender of our gross margins, ensuring field procurement adheres strictly to corporate policy.
· Tech-Stack Innovation (Systems Innovator): Lead the technical alignment and data mapping of our accounting processes. You will systematically eliminate manual workflows, ensuring unapplied deposits, partial completions, and job-costing tables flow seamlessly without manual adjustments.
· Team Leadership & Talent Deployment (Player-Coach): Hire, onboard, and mentor a top-tier Corporate Controller. You will hold your direct sub-department accountable to flawless compliance standards while training them to think like strategic business partners. You will also leverage our team of offshore resources to achieve day-to-day streamlined operations.
· Operational Variance & EBITDA Optimization (Analytical Thinker): Break down the operational walls by conducting deep-dive monthly variance analyses alongside our Market Operations Leaders. You will turn data into insight, identifying exactly why specific branches drift from target unit economics (e.g., analyzing unapplied windshield time vs. under-bid labor estimates).
· Professional Reporting (Polished External Finance Leader): Achieve 5-day close at the end of each month and deliver charts and reports that will clearly showcase trends, performance, and go-forward plans to our external capital partners, including investors, banks, and our board.
· Seamless Operational Continuity (Cross-Departmental Proactivity): Given you will own the purse-strings at Cerv, our day-to-day operations and sales efforts rely heavily on you to ensure all processes are being adhered to and any potential issues are handled proactively – payroll, gas cards, virtual credit cards, AP cycles, and more live with your department, and you will drive our support of our teams on the front-lines by ensuring they always have what they need when processes and budgets are followed instead of being a bottleneck that makes their job more difficult
What Success Looks Like
· Close Velocity: Work collaboratively with your team to execute a pristine 5-day month-end close across all multi-state operating entities with zero post-close adjustments required
· Margin Protection: Maintain company-wide unapplied cost variances below 5% through the enforcement of strict cross-functional accountability dashboards
· Cash Optimization: Keep Cerv’s consolidated DSO below 40 days while successfully structuring payables to maximize payment and credit terms
· Board Readiness: Deliver zero-defect, institutional-grade financial and KPI reporting packages to executive leadership and board members within 5 business days of period close
· Scalability: Construct a plug-and-play onboarding framework that successfully absorbs new geographical market openings and acquisition targets into our general ledger infrastructure within 30 days of closing
What We’re Looking For
Required Competencies & Experience
· 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience (Director or VP level) within high-growth, multi-entity, or private equity-backed platform companies.
· Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license with an advanced, authoritative grasp of GAAP, multi-state corporate tax nexus laws, and centralized compliance frameworks.
· A proven willingness to dig into the data, create financial models, and audit technical integrations yourself rather than simply reviewing another person's work.
· Demonstrated strength of character to hold operational executives and sales managers accountable to financial protocols while maintaining a collaborative, service-oriented posture.
· Advanced command of technological systems, including QuickBooks, Excel, and more with a preference toward AI implementation, tech stack optimization, and overall automation
Preferred
· Direct experience scaling a distributed field-service, logistics, or multi-site footprint.
· Prior experience managing debt compliance and covenant reporting.
· Direct payroll experience.
Compensation and Benefits
· Competitive executive base salary, commensurate with experience and market standards
· Performance-based bonus structure tied directly to company EBITDA and growth milestones
· Equity participation opportunities
· Comprehensive health, dental, vision, PTO, and paid holidays
