Harvest Landscape Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced and strategic President of Arbor Care Operations to lead, grow, and scale our Arbor Care division across multiple Southern California locations.
This is a senior executive leadership position with responsibility for the division’s overall operations, P&L performance, safety, customer relationships, leadership development, and long-term growth strategy.
The ideal candidate is a proven tree care or arboriculture leader with strong business acumen and experience managing complex, multi-location operations. This individual will be responsible for building high-performing teams, strengthening operational systems, improving profitability, developing strategic customer relationships, and positioning the Arbor Care division for continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Develop and execute the overall strategic direction for the Arbor Care division.
- Lead a 5–7-year strategic growth roadmap focused on market expansion, service-line development, operational excellence, and profitability.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, financial targets, and operational performance metrics.
- Identify new market opportunities and strategies to increase revenue and market share.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and long-term financial planning.
- Partner with executive leadership to align Arbor Care initiatives with company-wide objectives.
Operations Management
- Oversee Arbor Care operations across multiple Southern California locations.
- Provide leadership over scheduling, routing, labor allocation, fleet, equipment, inventory, and resource utilization.
- Develop and implement standardized operating procedures and best practices.
- Improve productivity, efficiency, service quality, and operational consistency.
- Oversee capital planning, equipment procurement, and asset management.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while improving operational performance.
- Drive the effective use of technology, including scheduling, GPS, fleet tracking, and customer management systems.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing Arbor Care leadership team.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability standards, and performance goals.
- Develop leadership pipelines, succession plans, and career development opportunities.
- Build a culture centered on safety, accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, and leadership development.
- Build an organizational structure capable of supporting continued growth and expansion.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, Cal/OSHA, environmental, and industry-specific regulations.
- Maintain alignment with ISA standards and ANSI A300 tree care guidelines.
- Oversee safety performance, workers’ compensation initiatives, and loss prevention programs.
- Conduct regular safety reviews, audits, and corrective action plans.
- Ensure all required licenses, certifications, permits, and regulatory documentation remain current.
- Proactively identify and mitigate operational, safety, and business risks.
Customer Relationships & Quality
- Establish and maintain high standards for Arbor Care service quality.
- Oversee job site inspections, quality audits, and operational reviews.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and lead efforts to resolve escalated concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with HOAs, property managers, commercial clients, and strategic accounts.
- Support contract negotiations, customer retention, and business development initiatives.
- Represent Harvest Landscape and Arbor Care at industry events, conferences, and community engagements.
Financial & Business Management
- Maintain full accountability for the Arbor Care division’s P&L performance.
- Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and overall profitability.
- Monitor labor, equipment, fleet, and operational expenses.
- Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to improve results.
- Develop staffing plans and labor forecasts based on operational needs and projected growth.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on pricing strategies, contracts, acquisitions, and business development opportunities.
Industry & Cross-Divisional Partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry organizations and professional networks, including CAI, CACM, and IREM.
- Build strong partnerships with HOAs, property management companies, and key commercial clients.
- Collaborate with Harvest Landscape divisions, including SmartScape, Construction, and Water Management, to identify cross-functional opportunities and improve operational alignment.
- Promote Harvest Landscape as a leader in the Southern California landscape and arboriculture industry.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in tree care, arboriculture, commercial landscaping, or a related industry.
- 5+ years of experience in senior operations, regional management, or executive leadership.
- Proven experience managing a division or business unit with full P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, cost control, margin improvement, and profitability.
- Experience leading and developing organizations with 50+ direct and indirect employees.
- Extensive knowledge of arboricultural practices, ISA standards, and ANSI A300 guidelines.
- Strong understanding of California labor laws, OSHA/Cal/OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, and industry safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead multi-location operations and build scalable systems.
- Strong financial, analytical, communication, negotiation, and business development skills.
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required industry certifications and licenses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Horticulture, Forestry, or a related field.
- ISA Certified Arborist credential or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience overseeing multiple branches or geographic markets.
- Experience managing commercial tree care, landscaping, construction, or contract-based service operations.
- Experience working with HOAs, property management companies, and community associations.
- Active involvement or familiarity with CAI, CACM, IREM, ISA, or other relevant industry organizations.
Compensation
$180,000–$220,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
