Position Summary:
Operates radioscopic equipment to produce and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas that aide in diagnosis of patient illness.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Accurately performs all recognized diagnostic and therapeutic radionuclide procedures.
- Accurately assists cardiologist with stress test functions. Assures safety of patient and personnel during procedures utilizing ionizing radiation.
- Responsible for accurate operation of computer, cameras and tomographic imaging equipment.
- Performs electronic/digital image capture, storage, transfer, and copy.
- Performs emergency call-in procedures as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Two (2) years formal education/training beyond high school or Associates Degree required with approved courses in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- 6 months of job-related experience
- Certified in Nuclear Medicine with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or certified Nuclear Medicine Tech with Society of Nuclear Medicine or certified with American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
- Certified in CPR/BCLS. (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
