We are seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic NC Pre-K Teacher Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The Teacher Assistant works under the direction of the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the developmental needs of preschool children while maintaining compliance with North Carolina Child Care Rules.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans aligned with the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through developmentally appropriate activities.
- Prepare classroom materials and learning centers before daily instruction.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
- Observe children and assist with documenting developmental progress.
- Support children with meals, snacks, toileting, handwashing, and other daily routines while promoting independence.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and program operations.
- Participate in parent conferences, family engagement activities, and school events as requested.
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, emergency plans, and sanitation practices.
- Complete required professional development and attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Assist with classroom transitions, field trips, and special activities.
- Report concerns regarding children's health, safety, or welfare to the Lead Teacher or Director immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Lead Teacher.
- MUST WORK AS A TEAM WITH LEAD TEACHER.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current NC Criminal Background Check (or ability to obtain).
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Early Childhood Credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
- Previous experience in a licensed child care.
- Knowledge of NC Child Care Licensing Rules and NC Pre-K Standards.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
