Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food production, menu planning, and service execution.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Oversee food safety protocols and maintain strict hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Coordinate banquet and catering preparations, ensuring timely delivery and presentation that meet client specifications.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
- Oversee food handling procedures and ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
- Lead shift management by organizing station assignments, monitoring performance, and resolving any operational issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs while maintaining menu integrity.
- Maintain a positive team environment through effective leadership, communication, and motivation.
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining environments.
- Proven supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse kitchen teams confidently.
- Experience in banquet service and catering operations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food production processes, menu planning, and food service management.
- Solid understanding of inventory management, inventory control, and food cost optimization.
- Expertise in food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage shifts efficiently while fostering teamwork.
- Familiarity with kitchen management systems and restaurant experience is preferred.
- Excellent cooking skills across various cuisines with an emphasis on presentation quality.
