Pay Range: $18-20/Hour - Full time 40 hours per week

Job Description:
The Dog Licensing & Redemption Clerk provides customer service and administrative support related to dog licensing and the redemption of stray or impounded dogs in Yamhill County. This position assists pet owners with licensing requirements, processes license applications and payments, maintains accurate records, and helps reunite lost dogs with their owners.
Essential Duties:
- Process new and renewed dog licenses and maintain accurate licensing records.
- Assist customers by phone, email, and in person with licensing questions and requirements.
- Process payments and issue licenses, tags, receipts, and other documentation.
- Assist owners with the redemption of stray or impounded dogs, including verifying ownership, collecting applicable fees, and completing required paperwork.
- Maintain accurate records related to impounded and redeemed dogs.
- Provide courteous, compassionate service to pet owners, including those experiencing stressful or emotional situations.
- Coordinate with shelter staff, law enforcement agencies, veterinary clinics, and other community partners as needed.
- Perform general administrative duties including data entry, filing, scanning, and responding to correspondence.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately handle payments, records, and confidential information.
- Comfortable working with the public in potentially difficult or emotional situations.
- Basic computer and data-entry proficiency.
- Experience in customer service, administrative work, animal welfare, or a related setting preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
