Role Summary
The Junior Business Analyst supports Senior Analysts and Project Teams in gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements for LifePRO system implementations. This role focuses on learning insurance products, system functionality, and the project lifecycle while contributing to analysis and testing activities under guidance. Must be able to attend a two-week on-site Training Workshop at the Indianapolis Office.
Business Analyst Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation sessions with clients and internal stakeholders to capture business needs, workflows, rules, and functional requirements.
- Create clear business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and supporting documentation for solution delivery.
- Partner with business, product, development, and QA teams to translate requirements into effective solution designs and implementation plans.
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and solution discussions to align stakeholders and drive decision-making.
- Support test planning, test case development, and validation activities to ensure requirements are implemented accurately.
- Analyze requirement changes, assess impacts to scope, risk, and effort, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
- Identify and help resolve business and system issues by partnering with development, QA, and support teams during delivery and post-implementation.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for new business and underwriting processes within LifePRO implementations.
- Mentor junior analysts, support best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement across the business analysis function.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, information systems, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, including writing business requirements and functional specifications.
- Experience working on medium to large-scale technology or business transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of requirements management, testing support, stakeholder communication, and solution delivery.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the life insurance and annuity domain, including new business and underwriting processes.

- Experience facilitating client workshops, process mapping sessions, and cross-functional solution discussions.
- Working knowledge of SQL, data analysis, and technical documentation.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and supporting distributed or offshore teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and driving process improvement initiatives.
Working knowledge of actuarial concepts and insurance product structures is a plus.

- Assist in documenting business and product requirements based on client needs.
- Support test case creation and execution for Quality Assurance activities.
- Participate in system testing and validation of changes.
- Help reproduce reported issues to support debugging and resolution.
- Assist with proof-of-concept activities to understand system capabilities.
- Participate in client meetings as a supporting team member.
- Learn actuarial and insurance concepts relevant to supported products.
- Support internal documentation, projects, and sales initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications: Experience & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Foundational understanding of insurance or financial services concepts.

- Internship or early career experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with business requirement documents, functional specifications, or test case documentation.
- Exposure to Quality Assurance or User Acceptance Testing.
- Coursework or progress toward actuarial exams is a plus but not required.
- Experience working on small to medium‑sized projects as part of a team.
- Ability to learn actuarial terminology and apply basic actuarial concepts with guidance.
