Job Title: Patient Access Representative
Location: Old Street Rd, Peterborough, NH 03458

Shift: M – F 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Summary:
As a Patient Access Representative, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, delivering exemplary customer service while managing registration and central scheduling for all hospital services. You will collect and verify demographic and insurance information, obtain authorizations, and accurately complete patient registrations across a wide range of service areas including laboratory, radiology, surgery, oncology, cardiology, emergency department, and more. You will collaborate closely with patients, physician offices, and ancillary departments to coordinate timely and effective care, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and all facility policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2–3 years of current, relevant experience in a medical setting required
- Previous scheduling and/or patient registration experience required
- Medical terminology knowledge required
- EMR Paragon experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask required
Clinical & Administrative Skills
- Proficient in patient registration for outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and emergency department services
- Skilled in verifying insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtaining prior authorizations within required timeframes
- Experience with demographic and insurance data entry into computer database systems
- Knowledge of patient legal forms including Advance Directives, Consent for Treatment, EMTALA, and Important Message from Medicare
- Ability to schedule laboratory and radiology services and coordinate with physician offices
- Proficient in maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Must be able to perform essential duties in at least two Patient Access service areas including the Emergency Department
Pay Details:
For Local Candidates pay rate: $24 to $26 /hr. (If your permanent address is within 50 miles of the facility)
For Travelers/Stipend Candidates (If your permanent address is outside the 50-mile radius from the facility):
Blended Hourly Pay Rate (W2): $29.00
Weekly Pay Rate (W2): $1,044.00
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $11.00
Minimum Hourly Stipend: $18.00
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $396.00
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $648.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $1,044.00
For Traveler 1099 Candidates:
Hourly Pay Rate (1099): $30.00
Weekly Pay Rate (1099): $1,080.00
