QA/QC Coating Inspector
Our Business is seeking to hire a qualified and detail-oriented Coating inspector to join our QA/QC team. The Ideal candidate will hold a current NACE/AMPP certification and have experience inspecting coatings on industrial equipment such as pipe, vessel, and skids. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications
· Current NACE/AMPP Level I or Level II Coating Inspector certification required to work under QA/QC
· Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Coating Inspector (preferred)
· Proficiency in operating inspection equipment (e.g., PosiTector)
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam
· Experience with painting and blasting is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
· Always follow all company safety procedures and policies
· Perform and submit daily coating inspections in accordance with customer specifications
· Conduct visual inspections to identify paint/coating defects
· Monitor and document weather and atmospheric conditions
· Perform surface profile measurements and dry film thickness (DFT) inspections
· Download, record, and maintain inspection data and reports
· Collaborate with yard personnel, supervisors, and third-party inspectors
· Maintain clear and effective communication across teams
· Perform additional duties as assigned
Work Environment and Requirements
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
· Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
· Ability to work extended hours (up to 12-hour shifts), including weekends, as needed
· Must be able to work with minimal supervision after training is completed
