Thrive HCR is seeking an experienced Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at Memorial Hospital – Bakersfield in Bakersfield, California. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PACU nurse with both ICU and Pediatric recovery experience looking for a high-paying California travel assignment.

Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Gross: $3,100–$3,300/week
- Guaranteed: 40 Hours/Week
- Holiday Rate: $128.10/hour
Position Overview
The PACU Registered Nurse provides specialized post-anesthesia care for adult and pediatric surgical patients, ensuring safe recovery from anesthesia while managing critical care needs. This position requires strong assessment skills, ICU experience, and the ability to care for complex post-operative patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures.
- Perform comprehensive post-operative assessments.
- Manage airway, hemodynamic monitoring, pain control, and post-anesthesia recovery.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions as needed.
- Recover ICU overflow patients, including those requiring ventilators, sedation, and vasopressor management.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, ICU teams, and multidisciplinary staff.
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner.
- Provide patient and family education for discharge and recovery.

Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
- ICU experience required
- Pediatric PACU experience required
- No First-Time Travelers
- Current BLS (AHA),ACLS, PALS
- Experience with ventilators, sedation, and vasopressor management
- Cerner experience preferred
