XenerPower USA LLC is hiring an Electrical Engineer Assistant to support our engineering team on low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment: switchgear, switchboards, panelboards and transformers.
This is a working engineering support role, not a drafting seat. You will review customer specifications and one-line diagrams, build submittal packages, produce datasheets, and validate bills of materials against approved specs. You will report to the Electrical Engineer / Engineering Manager and work directly with customers and component suppliers.
It is a good fit for a recent graduate or an engineering technician who wants to learn UL 891 and IEEE C37.20.2 equipment properly, on real projects, with a senior engineer to learn from.
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour, based on education and experience. Full-time, on-site in Houston.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Review customer specifications, one-line diagrams and panel/equipment schedules to confirm scope and technical requirements for quotations and orders
Prepare switchgear, switchboard and panelboard submittal packages, including component schedules and technical drawings (UL 891 for LV switchboards, IEEE C37.20.2 for MV metal-clad switchgear)
Produce transformer and switchgear component datasheets: electrical and mechanical specifications, dimensional drawings and product images
Develop and validate bills of materials for panelboards and switchgear against approved specifications and customer schedules
Communicate with component suppliers and manufacturers to confirm technical specifications, certifications and lead times
Verify that proposed equipment configurations comply with NEC, UL and IEEE requirements and with customer specifications
Support factory acceptance testing (FAT): scheduling, documentation and related paperwork with customers and suppliers
Provide technical input to sales and procurement on equipment configuration questions during quoting
Coordinate with the onsite manager on how equipment is to be installed per drawing
WHAT YOU NEED
Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Basic understanding of electrical distribution equipment (panelboards, switchgear, transformers) and the ability to read one-line diagrams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow technical specifications precisely
Good written communication skills for technical documentation
NICE TO HAVE
AutoCAD or similar drawing software
Familiarity with UL 891 or IEEE C37.20.2
Exposure to Square D / Schneider Electric or similar equipment lines
EIT certification or progress toward PE licensure. Not required, and we will support you if you are working toward it
