Job Title: Inventory Supervisor 1st Shift (6:30am-3:30pm Mon-Fri)

Reports To: Warehouse/Materials Manager
Position Summary: The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading daily inventory, shipping, receiving, work order processing, and warehouse support activities to ensure safe, accurate, efficient, and timely movement of materials and finished goods. This role supervises warehouse personnel, supports continuous improvement initiatives, monitors departmental performance metrics, enforces company standards, and works cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Operations, and Warehouse/Materials leadership to meet customer, operational, safety, and quality objectives.
Responsibilities:

Oversee daily warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and materials workflow to ensure departmental metrics for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, accuracy, and service are consistently achieved.

Develop, maintain, and revise documented procedures for inventory control, shipping, receiving, material handling, cycle counting, order fulfillment, and related warehouse processes to support standard work and compliance requirements.

Complete timely and objective performance appraisals for direct reports, providing clear feedback, development goals, and follow-up coaching as appropriate.

Document safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and workflow issues; investigate root causes; and coordinate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain a high level of quality service by enforcing organizational standards, work instructions, safety practices, and inventory control requirements.

Communicate significant workflow, staffing, safety, quality, inventory, and employee relations concerns to the Warehouse/Materials Manager in a timely and professional manner.

Ensure employee adherence to company policies, procedures, attendance expectations, safety rules, quality standards, and established work practices.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Prioritize and manage orders due for shipment to support on-time customer delivery, accurate order fulfillment, and effective coordination with internal stakeholders.

Communicate finished goods availability, shortages, priorities, and material needs to Production Supervisors and other appropriate personnel to support production and shipping schedules.

Supervise the accurate and timely processing of work orders, inventory transactions, material movements, and related ERP system activity.

Resolve operational issues by investigating concerns, identifying root causes, evaluating options, implementing practical solutions, and escalating matters when appropriate.

Provide hands-on support and backup to warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory personnel as needed to meet business priorities.

Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment, in limited-space manufacturing and warehouse environments.

Lead, conduct, or participate in daily SQCDMM meetings to review safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and maintenance priorities, performance, and action items.

Support investigation, documentation, response, and corrective action activities related to MRR and CAPA issues, in coordination with Quality and Operations teams.

Coach, counsel, recognize, and address employee performance and conduct in accordance with company policies, established procedures, and leadership direction.

Collect, analyze, and report department performance data, including safety, quality, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, productivity, and workflow metrics.

Identify and support professional growth, skills development, cross-training, and advancement opportunities for direct reports.

Train new hires and cross-train existing employees on warehouse procedures, safety expectations, ERP transactions, equipment operation, quality requirements, and standard work practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications, vocational training, or related continuing education preferred.

Minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse, inventory control, shipping, receiving, materials, manufacturing, or distribution environment.

Minimum of one year of experience using ERP, inventory management, warehouse management, or related business software systems.

Prior supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience preferred, including experience assigning work, coaching employees, and supporting performance expectations.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

Knowledge of workplace safety practices required; familiarity with OSHA requirements, hazard communication, SDS information, and safe material handling practices preferred.

Ability to read, understand, and interpret work instructions, production documentation, inventory records, bills of material, and engineering drawings.

Ability to write clear instructions, reports, and documentation and present information effectively to employees, peers, supervisors, and management
Additional Requirements:

Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English and communicate expectations, priorities, and procedures clearly to employees.

Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in accordance with company training, certification, and safety requirements.

Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, counting, measurement, and inventory quantity verification.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, communicate professionally, resolve issues constructively, and support business priorities.

Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, sit, climb ladders, and perform repetitive movements for periods of more than one hour at a time, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to work safely at heights of up to 20 feet when required, with appropriate training and safety equipment.

Work Environment – Manufacturing and Warehouse:

Work may be performed near operating machinery, powered industrial trucks, production equipment, and moving mechanical components.

Employees may work around chemicals or materials requiring review of applicable Safety Data Sheets and adherence to hazard communication requirements.

The work area may include exposure to dust, debris, packaging materials, and other typical warehouse or manufacturing conditions.

Noise levels may vary and may require the use of hearing protection in designated areas.

Personal protective equipment, protective clothing, and safety devices may be required based on task, location, and company safety requirements.

Regular use of computers, scanners, printers, electronic equipment, ERP systems, and other business tools may be required.
