Program Coordinator, Biology Clubs & Student Engagement
Position Summary:
Full-Time In-Office Position, Tysons Corner, VA
The Program Coordinator supports biology education and student engagement initiatives by developing relationships with schools, coordinating outreach programs, and engaging STEM professionals to contribute to webinars, panels, and other educational events. The role also manages program data and provides administrative support to the USA Biolympiad (USABO) Manager. This position plays a key part in building a network of biology scholars and schools, and fostering collaboration among students and educators to cultivate future STEM leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the USABO Manager in the administration, coordination, and execution of the USA Biolympiad and related programs.
- Develop and maintain a network of high school biology clubs across the United States.
- Maintain program records, databases, and digital files; perform data entry, cleaning, and reporting.
- Draft, proofread, and distribute program communications and correspondence to teachers and students.
- Coordinate meetings, schedules, and program logistics as needed.
- Provide general administrative support and perform related duties as assigned.
- Coordinate initiatives that promote communication, collaboration, and engagement among biology-based student organizations.
- Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and outreach activities.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
Preferred
- Background in STEM, particularly biology.
- Experience working with educational programs, student organizations, or nonprofit initiatives.
Technical Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher)
- Adobe Acrobat
- Data processing, reporting, and file management
