Ganders Restaurant | DoubleTree by Hilton
Do you take pride in the food you put on the plate? Do you thrive in a fast-paced kitchen where teamwork, quality, and consistency matter? If so, we want you on our team!
DoubleTree by Hilton is looking for an experienced, dependable, and motivated Full-Time Line Cook to join the culinary team at Ganders Restaurant and our Conference & Event Center.
We're looking for more than someone who can simply work a station. We want a cook who takes ownership, brings energy to the kitchen, supports their teammates, and understands that every plate represents our restaurant and hotel.
Whether you're preparing a guest's dinner, executing a banquet for hundreds, or getting the kitchen ready for the next shift, your attention to detail matters.
What You'll Do
As a Line Cook, you will:
- Prepare and cook high-quality menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and ticket times.
- Deliver consistently great food that creates a "WOW" experience for our guests.
- Set up, maintain, and properly break down your station for each shift.
- Complete daily prep lists, line checks, temperature logs, and opening/closing procedures.
- Maintain proper portion control to support food quality and control food costs.
- Follow proper food rotation, labeling, dating, storage, and FIFO procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout your shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Assist with banquet and conference food preparation and execution.
- Communicate effectively with fellow cooks, servers, banquet staff, and hotel leadership.
- Help reduce waste and protect the profitability of the kitchen.
- Identify and communicate product shortages, equipment concerns, or quality issues before they become problems.
- Support your teammates and jump in where needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who brings skill, dependability, urgency, and a positive attitude to every shift.
- Previous line cook or professional kitchen experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to independently open and close kitchen stations.
- Strong understanding of kitchen systems, including prep lists, line checks, order guides, recipes, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to help others.
- Passion for producing great food and delivering an outstanding guest experience.
- Dependable transportation.
- Full-time availability, including weekends and holidays based on business needs.
