Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Technician/Mechanic with electrical expertise to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, farm machinery, and automotive systems. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, utilizing your mechanical and electrical knowledge to deliver top-notch service.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems.
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repairs using schematics and electrical testing tools.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed to meet operational requirements.
- Service and repair heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools for assembly, disassembly, welding, soldering, and equipment repair tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance including tire service, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair, alignment adjustments, and HVAC system servicing.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications while maintaining detailed service records.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a diesel technician or mechanic with dealership or industrial equipment background preferred.
- Strong electrical skills with the ability to interpret schematics and perform automotive diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and tire service.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering irons safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service and quality workmanship.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions.
