Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Church Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our congregation and staff. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitation of all church facilities, ensuring that every space reflects the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Your proactive approach to facilities maintenance will contribute to a positive experience for visitors and team members alike, fostering a respectful and comfortable atmosphere for worship and community activities. Job pays $4363.00/yr.
Duties (5 hrs each week)
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of sanctuary, classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a healthy environment.
- Operate floor buffers, polishers, and other custodial equipment to maintain pristine floor care including buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks with safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or cleaning materials.
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly and ensuring restrooms are hygienic at all times.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or injuries while maintaining the integrity of the church’s facilities.
Qualifications
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and chemical agents used in sanitation processes.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence and safe lifting practices during manual handling tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards staff and visitors.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (35-40 lbs) safely and work independently with minimal supervision.
